Last week a woman asked what my lifelong connection with photography is.

My head spun.

What is my connection with photography?

After thinking for a minute, I had the answer … Very little. My lifelong connection is with energy, emotion and music, particularly live music. Although I grew up around photography, the craft itself is a tool. It enables me to share live music culture, community and how music makes me feel.

My connection with music is powerful and has been for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, music could make me inexplicably laugh or cry or bring back memories of people, places and moments. Nothing in this has changed.

I stopped questioning the "whys" a long time ago. It just is.

My love of construction and deconstruction is no secret. That these photographs remind me of live music may come as a surprise to many.

I can explain the connections and why this stuff vibes like live music and composition, but not right now.

A blog? Maybe one day.

In the meantime, I would prefer to leave further interpretation … to you.
