Emotional investment
Researching bands and artists is not for me. I prefer leaning on the energy and what is unfolding on the night rather than having a fixed idea of what may (or may not) happen, which brings me to Leonard Cohen. Being unfamiliar with him as a performing artist, I had no idea what to expect heading into Rod Laver Arena for his 2013 show. From the first bar, Cohen was so mesmerising I stood in the photo pit and momentarily forgot why I was there. Ten years on, the event continues to remind me that by trusting my intuition, incredible moments can be captured, their stories shared and cherished for eternity through the lens.
