Only a few months after buying the Canon EOS 3 35mm camera (my current favourite) the coupling cover fell out and left me with a nonfunctioning rig.
The coupling cover is a little plug that screws into the base of the camera body. It is no larger than a 10c piece and, as with the EOS 3, no longer in production. It is also a very difficult part to source.

First thing I did was retrace my steps. This meant crawling around the Bendigo Hotel and The Tote on all fours sweeping my hands in and around the corners of their respective band room floors in hope that cleaners had missed or swept the precious part unknowingly into a corner with no joy.
Next … search for the part online. Nope. Contact used camera stores. Nope. I also got in touch with Canon Australia who all but replied “good luck with that”.
I finally managed to get onto some old school camera mates who managed to find one of the little gems, and I am thrilled to have this sublime rig back in action.
I am very much looking forward to getting stuck into processing the backlog of 35mm film at the studio and having a lot of fun with the EOS 3 and my AE1s.
