Australian Dostoevsky Society critique “Being of Light”

Nikolai Gladanac, Vice President (Research) of the Australian Dostoevsky Society, discusses the Zo Damage exhibition “Being of Light”, the title of which was inspired by the readings in the Hegel Reading Group of the Australian Dostoevsky Society, specifically the concept “das Lichtwesen” (translated here as the being of light) in Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit. Nikolai Gladanac, Vice President (Research) of the Australian Dostoevsky Society, discusses the Zo Damage exhibition “Being of Light”, the title of which was inspired by the readings in the Hegel Reading Group of the Australian Dostoevsky Society, specifically the concept “das Lichtwesen” (translated here as the being of light) in Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit. Gladanac provides insight into the installation through a Hegelian lens, describing the body of work as one that “functions like a movement of moments in which the human mind reclaims its estranged essence within the natural world".
