Zo Damage 365 Day Project

Trendy Melbourne lanes, jazz, brutal Bach reinterpretations, epic sold out shows, Austrian prog, indie vibes, solo artists, unexpected gigs, bands from Beijing, cruisy Sundays and a lot of metal. Week 52 marks the completion of stage one of my 366 Day Project and includes Daniel Tucceri at Northcote Social Club, The Big And Easy Jazz Band busking in Degraves Lane, Mother's Cake at The Evelyn and Christ Crusher, Vicious Circle, Blunt Shovel and the Douche Crew at The Tote. With VC being a late addition to the Blunt Shovel line up and discovering Shovels were playing upstairs in Cobra Bar on the same night made my week! Two of my favourite bands are now in 366! Win! This week also features Jade Imagine in The Tote front bar, Ross Elliott at Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar, Nuclear Assault at Max Watt's, Birdstriking at The Tote and the Baudelairs, Jules McKenzie and White+ sets at The Old Bar. As for day 364 … what a trip!

Zo Damage 365 Day Project

Live to airs, behind the scenes, parks and gardens, stained glass ceilings and record launches. Week 51 of my 366 Day Project was amazing! From hanging out at PBS for Drive Live and catching a slew of amazing bands playing live to air for the event including Amyl And The Sniffers. After PBS, I headed to Friday Nights at NGV to see No Zu. Week 51 also features The Murderballs at the Brunswick Hotel, Buried Feather and Pony Face for the Buried Feather album launch at Howler, The Peep Tempel at Shimmerlands for Shadow Electric at Melbourne Uni and Dale "Boadz" Boaden at Bar 303, General Men at The Old Bar and Malcura busking in the Bourke St Mall ahead of their Evelyn gig on 17 March. On the home stretch now folks! Only one week to go until the first stage of my 366 Day Project is complete!

Week 50 delivered across the board with Christian Meaas Svendsen from Norway playing an inprov sesh at Uptown Jazz Cafe, The Hard-Ons for Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar first birthday bash (happy birthday Shane and Leanne) Wet Lips and Shripwitch for Wet Fest III at The Tote, Southern Stars at Cherry Bar, Ogopogo for Monday Night Mass at Northcote Social Club, RVIVR at The Old Bar and Cash Savage And The Last Drinks playing a brilliant set for PBS Drive Live 2017.

This week includes outstanding sets by Spike Fuck and Melbourne Ska Orchestra for Shimmerlands at Melbourne University, and sunshine with an open roof for La Bastard at The Gasometer Hotel, Bench Press and Moonlight Arch sets at The Old Bar, Andy Papadopoulos with Cam Butler for Monday Night Mass at Northcote Social Club and Buried Feather live to air for Pojama People in Studio 5 at PBS.

Dive bars, legendary bands, massive backlighting and breaking stuff … welcome to week 48 of my 366 Day Project! This week features Money For Rope at Tago Mago, the mighty Dinosaur Jr at The Croxton Bandroom, Sliverlight Shadows at Cherry Bar, Puscifer at The Plenary, Magnetix at The Evelyn Hotel and Acolyte at The Workers Club. Odio played one of the best gigs I've been to in ages for Monday Night Mass at Northcote Social Club … punters flew, staged dived and played the bands instruments, equipment was broken, and the pub … I'm amazed it's still standing!

Good mates, new faves and chilled out Sundays, Week 47 of my 366 Day Project delivered a great mix of vibes and music. Highlights for the week were Enzyme and Uptown Ace sets at Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar and Teeth And Tongue for Monday Night Mass at Northcote Social Club. Also featured in Week 47 are We Lost The Sea at Northcote Social Club, Religious Observance at The Bendigo, Kimba for a relaxing Sunday arvo of jazz at The Fitzroy Pinnacle and The Berkley Hunts at The Old Bar.

December was a weird month, throwing up many challenges, both in finding gigs and personally. That being said, it's great to have life back to something that resemble normality.

Week 46 of The Project delivered across the board and features an amazing array of bands with Tyrannamen at Shimmerlands for Shadow Electric at Melbourne University and Gold Class at NGV for Friday Nights at NGV. The pubs and dive bars did not disappoint with grindcore from Shitwreck at The Brunswick Hotel, solo folk artist David Grimson at Whole Lotta Love, the amazing Gregory Page at The Old Bar and Ashley Naylor and friends at Cherry Bar. Passengers on the 86 were treated to a random acoustic guitar performance, while the final night of Week 46 found me all but stumbling into Samba Night at the Queen Victoria Night Market.

December was a trip and gigs were few and far between. That being said, there was still something on each night of the week. I spent NYE with friends to catching local legends Me-Graines and the mighty Hits. Week 45 of my 365 Day Project also features White Lightening and Frankenbok gigs at Cherry Bar, Puffer in The Tote bandroom, Public High at The Old Bar, Rogue Wavs at Howler and Don Bosco in The Tote front bar. I hope you all had a great festive season and new year's eve, spending with people you like doing things you wanted to do. Happy New Year friends!

Week 44 of my 365 Day Project features Dusty Ravens at The Retreat, Even for the Even Christmas Party at The Corner, Jurassic Nark at The Tote, soul jams at The Curtin, an epic house party in Northcote Toga Rock, Fuck The Fitzroy Doom Scene at Ding Dong Lounge, Her Majesty's Hangover at The Old Bar and Draught Dodgers for the Cherry Awards at Cherry Bar. It is now 9.30pm on New Year's Eve … time to head to a gig! All the very best for 2017 folks and thanks for your rad support over this year. You seriously rule.

This week was a big one with 20 December marking Day 300 of my 365 Day Project! Despite the world being in the throws of pre-Christmas madness, the live music scene, albeit somewhat subdued, held its ground. Week 43 features Keggin and Spacejunk sets at Last Chance Bar, humour and Sex Falcons with DJ Purple Duck at Yah Yah's, the brilliance of Howl At The Moon at The Old Bar, Cool Sounds for Monday Night Mass at Northcote Social Club, improv gold with the Make It Up Club at Bar Open, and Reuben Stone performing amidst the madness of Christmas shopping and general mayhem of the Bourke St Mall.
